Sweden licensed casinos (Spelinspektionen)

What a Swedish licence obliges

Spelpaus is the centre of it: a national self-exclusion register run by the regulator. One registration blocks you from every Swedish-licensed operator at once, and also stops them marketing to you. It is not per-site and it cannot be undone early.

Bonuses are restricted to a single welcome offer per customer — no reload offers, no ongoing bonus programme. An operator advertising a stream of bonuses to Swedish players is either not licensed there or not complying.

Licensees must offer deposit limits, apply duty-of-care obligations, and take responsibility for the games they publish. Licences are tied to specific domains, which is why the register lists them.

A licence is not a recommendation. It means an operator has met a regulator's conditions and can be held to them; it says nothing about whether their offers are good value, whether their terms are fair, or whether you will enjoy the experience. It is the floor, not the ceiling.

Where to complain about a Swedish-licensed casino

Raise it with the operator first. Sweden also has a general consumer complaints route through the national board for consumer disputes, and Spelinspektionen supervises licensees and acts on the licence itself rather than settling individual claims.

Because licences attach to named domains, complaints are cleaner here than in most regimes: the exact site you played on is either on the register or it is not.

What to check before you play

• Spelpaus is total. One registration blocks every Swedish-licensed site and stops their marketing. It cannot be lifted early.
• One bonus only. A single welcome offer per customer. A stream of promotions means something is off.
• The .se domain. The licence names the domain. Check the site you are on is the one listed.
• Deposit limits. Mandatory to offer, and worth setting before you need them.
• Licence status. The register shows current state; entries can lapse.
• Outside Sweden. A Swedish licence covers the Swedish market; it says nothing about others.

How this list is built

Every operator here appears because a licence record naming them was read from the regulator’s own published register, not from a badge in a website footer. A seal is an image the operator controls; a register entry is not.

We publish the register’s status rather than our opinion of it, which means licences that have lapsed, been surrendered or been revoked stay on the page. Hiding them would remove the single most useful thing a reader could learn here.

A register lists what it lists. Absence from one is not proof that a licence was revoked, and where we cannot confirm a current licence the profile says exactly that instead of guessing. There is no ordering by quality and no operator can buy a position: the order reflects how much verified evidence each profile carries.

Questions about the spelinspektionen (sweden) licence

What is Spelpaus?

Sweden's national self-exclusion register, run by the regulator. Registering blocks you from every Swedish-licensed operator simultaneously and stops gambling marketing reaching you. It cannot be cancelled before the period you chose ends.

Why do Swedish casinos only offer one bonus?

Because the licence permits one bonus per customer. It is a rule about the licence, not a business decision, and operators offering more to Swedish players are outside it.

How do I check a Swedish licence?

Spelinspektionen publishes its licensees with the domains each is authorised to operate. Each profile here links to the record with the date we read it.

Can I play at a Swedish-licensed site from another country?

The licence governs the Swedish market. What you may do elsewhere depends on your own country's rules, and the protections built into the Swedish licence are not designed to travel.

Safer gambling

18+ only. A licence changes what an operator owes you; it does not change the odds of any game, and no regulator makes a losing bet less likely. Where the regime runs a national self-exclusion scheme, one registration covers every licensed operator at once — that is the strongest single control available to you, and it is described in the section above.
