Cashback is the one common offer that pays out when you lose rather than when you deposit, which makes it the easiest offer to evaluate and the hardest to compare. These 165 operators publish one on their own pages.

Two questions decide whether a cashback offer is worth anything: is it calculated on net losses or on deposits, and does it pay in real money or in bonus funds with wagering attached. The answers are in the terms and they vary enormously between operators using the same word.

Cashback at 10% of net losses paid as withdrawable cash is a genuine reduction in what the game costs you. Cashback at 10% paid as a bonus at 30x wagering is worth a small fraction of that, and it is advertised identically.

How cashback actually works

Net losses versus deposits is the first fork. Cashback on net losses is calculated on deposits minus withdrawals over a period, which is the honest version. Cashback on deposits pays on money in regardless of outcome, which sounds better and usually comes with conditions that make it worse.

Real money or bonus money is the second, and it is decisive. Real cashback is withdrawable immediately. Bonus cashback carries its own wagering requirement, often at the same multiple as a deposit bonus, which means a 10% rebate at 30x is closer to 1% in expected value than to 10%.

The calculation period matters more than it looks. Daily cashback resets losses every day, so a bad Monday and a good Tuesday are treated separately; monthly cashback nets them off. For the same headline percentage, the shorter period usually pays more, because losses are not offset by wins in another window.

Caps and minimums quietly bound the offer at both ends: a minimum net loss before anything is paid, and a maximum rebate per period. A "20% cashback" with a £50 weekly cap is a £50 offer, and for most players the cap is the number that applies rather than the percentage.

Tiered cashback tied to a loyalty level is common, and the advertised percentage is nearly always the top tier. The rate that applies to a new account is at the bottom of a table further down the terms page.

What to check before you deposit

  • Net losses or deposits. Net losses is the meaningful basis. Cashback on deposits usually carries conditions that undo it.
  • Cash or bonus. Withdrawable cash is worth the headline; bonus funds with wagering are worth a fraction of it.
  • Wagering on the rebate. If the cashback is bonus money, its multiple decides the real value of the offer.
  • Period. Daily, weekly or monthly. Shorter periods usually pay more at the same percentage.
  • Cap and minimum. A weekly cap is often the number that actually applies, not the percentage.
  • Which tier. The advertised rate is usually the top loyalty tier, not the one a new account gets.

How this list is built

Every operator here appears because we read the offer on their own terms or promotions page and recorded the date. Not from an affiliate feed, not from an advert, and not from another comparison site — those are the three places bonus figures go stale or were never right.

Offers change without notice and are frequently restricted by country, by currency, by payment method and by whether you are a returning customer. The page each row links to is the operator's own, which is the only place the current terms are authoritative. If what you see there differs from what you see here, theirs is correct and we want to know.

There is no ordering by size of bonus and no operator can buy a position. A large headline number usually means a large wagering requirement attached to it, so ranking by it would actively mislead. The order reflects how much verified evidence each profile carries, and nothing else.

Questions about cashback

Is casino cashback real money?
Sometimes. Some operators pay it as withdrawable cash, which is worth its face value; others pay it as bonus funds with a wagering requirement attached, which is worth considerably less. The terms say which, and it is the single most important thing on the page.
Is cashback better than a deposit bonus?
It is usually simpler and easier to value, because it pays on an outcome that has already happened rather than on a requirement you have yet to meet. Whether it is better depends entirely on whether it pays in cash and what the cap is.
How is cashback calculated?
Typically as a percentage of net losses — deposits minus withdrawals — over a fixed period, subject to a minimum loss before anything pays and a maximum rebate per period. Some operators instead calculate on deposits, which is a different and generally weaker offer.
Does cashback have wagering requirements?
If it is paid as bonus funds, almost always, and often at the same multiple as a deposit bonus. If it is paid as cash, normally not. The difference between the two is the difference between a 10% offer and a 1% one.

Safer gambling

18+ only. A bonus is a marketing cost the operator has priced in, not a gift and not an edge: wagering requirements exist precisely so that the expected value of the offer stays in the house's favour. Treat the bonus as a reason to play for longer, never as a reason to deposit more than you had decided to. In the UK, free and confidential help is available from GamCare and BeGambleAware.
