Visa deposits are easy; Visa withdrawals are not

Deposits post instantly and the casino rarely charges for them. Your own bank might: gambling transactions are frequently coded as cash advances on credit cards, which attracts a fee and interest from day one. Visa Debit avoids that and is the only card type a UK-licensed site may accept, because credit-card gambling has been prohibited in the UK since April 2020.

Withdrawals go back to the same card and take longer than people expect. The operator's own approval step comes first, then the refund itself lands in roughly three to five working days. Refunds to an expired or reissued card fail and have to be redirected, usually to a bank transfer with fresh verification.

Almost every licensed casino applies a closed-loop rule: money goes back the way it came, at least up to the amount you deposited. Can I gamble with a Visa credit card?

Not on a UK-licensed site — the Gambling Commission banned credit-card gambling in April 2020. Outside the UK it depends on the operator and your issuer, and many issuers treat it as a cash advance with a fee and immediate interest.

Why was my Visa deposit declined?

Usually the issuing bank rather than the casino. Gambling merchant codes are commonly blocked by default or by a gambling block on your account, and cross-border transactions are sometimes refused separately.
