Belgium runs one of Europe's most restrictive regimes: online licences are attached to land-based establishments, so the number of operators is deliberately small. These 85 hold Belgian online licences from the Gaming Commission's own feeds.

What a Belgian licence obliges
Online licences (the A+, B+ and F1+ classes) are supplementary to land-based ones. An operator cannot simply apply for an online licence in isolation, which is why the licensed list is short and stable compared with other markets.
EPIS is the national exclusion system, and operators must check it before allowing play — it also covers people excluded by court or at their own request. Belgium further restricts advertising and bonuses sharply.
The Commission publishes a blacklist of unlicensed sites alongside its licensed lists, which is unusually direct and worth consulting.
A licence is not a recommendation. It means an operator has met a regulator's conditions and can be held to them; it says nothing about whether their offers are good value, whether their terms are fair, or whether you will enjoy the experience. It is the floor, not the ceiling.
Where to complain about a Belgian-licensed operator
Raise it with the operator, then with the Gaming Commission, which supervises licensees and maintains both the licensed lists and the blacklist.
If the site you used appears on the blacklist rather than a licence list, that is the answer to most questions about it and the Commission is still where to report it.
What to check before you play
- Licence class. A+, B+ and F1+ are online supplements to land-based licences. The class tells you what is permitted.
- EPIS. National exclusion, checked by the operator before play.
- Check the blacklist too. The Commission publishes unlicensed sites explicitly.
- Few operators by design. A short list reflects the land-based link, not a gap in our research.
- Advertising limits. Bonuses and promotion are tightly constrained.
- Status and date. The profile shows the register state and when we read it.
How this list is built
Every operator here appears because a licence record naming them was read from the regulator’s own published register, not from a badge in a website footer. A seal is an image the operator controls; a register entry is not.
We publish the register’s status rather than our opinion of it, which means licences that have lapsed, been surrendered or been revoked stay on the page. Hiding them would remove the single most useful thing a reader could learn here.
A register lists what it lists. Absence from one is not proof that a licence was revoked, and where we cannot confirm a current licence the profile says exactly that instead of guessing. There is no ordering by quality and no operator can buy a position: the order reflects how much verified evidence each profile carries.
Questions about the belgian gaming commission licence
- Why are there so few Belgian-licensed casinos?
- Because an online licence is supplementary to a land-based one. The number of land-based licences is capped, so the online market is small by design rather than by accident.
- What is EPIS?
- Belgium's exclusion system. Operators must check it before allowing play, and it covers self-requested exclusions as well as those imposed by a court.
- What do A+, B+ and F1+ mean?
- They are the online supplements to the land-based casino, gaming arcade and betting licence classes respectively, and they determine what the operator may offer online.
- How do I check a Belgian licence?
- The Gaming Commission publishes its licensed operators and, separately, a blacklist of unlicensed sites. Each profile links to the record we read, with the date.
Safer gambling
18+ only. A licence changes what an operator owes you; it does not change the odds of any game, and no regulator makes a losing bet less likely. Where the regime runs a national self-exclusion scheme, one registration covers every licensed operator at once — that is the strongest single control available to you, and it is described in the section above. In the UK, free and confidential help is available from GamCare and BeGambleAware.
